A.H. Riise Royal Danish Navy Naval Cadet Rum
The A. H. Riise Royal Danish Navy collection pays tribute to the sailors on the seven seas, honouring the proud history of the Royal Danish Navy. Made using double-distilled, aged Caribbean rums, the master blenders expertly select rums which when blended together make for perfectly balanced, consistent rums. The collection is defined by rums with elegant and deep flavours and an equally elegant and deep, sweet finish.
Their Naval Cadet Rum is a fantastic blend of hand-picked rums which balances tradition and strength, using distiltes which are reminiscent of saltwater, tarred ropes, and tropical fruits. It has an elegant and deep nose, with liquorice root, orange peel, coconut, mint and the fruity aromas of a fruit cellar. In the mouth, the taste is sweet, well rounded yet bold. The richness is balanced with fresh notes of mint and eucalyptus, zesty citrus and the bitterness of liquorice and balsamic. The finish is long and lingering, transitioning from fruity notes to the soft and warm notes of leather.

Navy Cadet Rum is delicious when served over ice and sipped slowly.
For the cocktail lovers, how about a 'Daggers and Sabres'. Add 60ml Navy Cadet Rum, 25ml fresh lime juice, 10ml green chartreuse, 10ml raspberry syrup and a couple of dashes each of liquorice and pepprmint bitters into a cocktail shaker. Fill with crushed ice and give it a good shake. Pour into a chilled glass and top up with a little more crushed ice. Garnish with a dried lime slice and dried raspberries. Mist with absinthe (optional) and sip with a straw.
