The Banana Experiment
For the second in their experimental series, La Hechicera have taken their (already) delicious La Hechicera rum, and matured it in white oak casks and infused with generous amounts of organic banana flesh.
This latest instalment of La Hechicera's Serie Experimental is a tribute to the three generations of Riascos banana growers who weathered the unforgiving whims of nature to bring forth the most nourishing of tropical fruits. All of this was, of course, before the family transitioned into the romantic adventure of making rum.
The result has aromas of rich toffee, overripe bananas, vanilla and dried fruits all with subtle smoky undertones. These are followed by orange confit, salted caramel and marzipan on the palette. The finish leave luscious oaky notes with a hint of minerals on the tongue.
