With a history going back through four generations, the Arbikie Highland Estate is a family owned farm located on the east coast of Angus (between Dundee and Aberdeen in Scotland). In an area where the weather and seasons can be turbulent, the family plant, sow, tend and harvest - resulting in crops of quality, which have been grown with passion. Now, three of the family brothers (John, Iain and David) are the visionaries and driving force behind the Arbikie Highland Estate distillery - creating drinks with the same passion that their famly has farmed the land with through the generations.

As with all Arbikie spirits, their Highland Rye Single Grain Scotch Whisky Cask Selection is the representation of a unique combination of weather, field and crop varieties, but this release is very special. For this strictly limited edition whisky, only 470 bottles are available worldwide, and in The Netherlands, we have secured just a few of those special bottles. Arbike have taken their Highland Rye Single Grain Scotch Whisky and rested it for one year in a Jamaican rum barrel, a barrel that aged the rum for 5 years, so imagine what deliciousness the barrel has imparted to the whisky.

The whisky has a beautiful honey bronze colour and aromas of ripe banana, grilled pineapple, creamy vanilla ice cream, roasted almonds and toasted sugar. On the palate there are stewed fruit, demerara sugar, cocoa, gilled pineapple, blackcurrants and a touch of spice from cloves.
