Blind Tiger Liquid Gold Gin (Batch 4)
Taking their Blind Tiger Piper Cubeba (which is special in itself), they aged it for six months in used American Oak barrels.
This gave an already delicious gin a whole new edge, and resulted in a sophisticated, and limited edition gin.... Blind Tiger Liquid Gold
As this is the Piper Cubeba gin, aged, the botanicals are the same. Juniper berries, coriander seeds, malted barley, licorice orris and angelica roots, lemon and sweet & bitter orange peel, orange blossom, ginger, green cardamom, cubeb berries and lavender, all merge perfectly with a "secret" Belgian botanical.
After the same distillation process, the gin is then rested for 6 months in the oak barrels, then filtered, bottled, and numbered.
With a similar base profile as the Piper Cubeba, the aging takes the experience to a different level. It has a lingering, velvety rich and complex aroma of lemon, vanilla, honey and the oak. In the mouth the flavours come into their own. A warming smoothness of buttery orange, floral hints dance across the tongue and the finish is long, with notes of the bourbon spice from the barrels.
Perfect Serve
This is something special, and should be savoured. Either neat, or over ice.
It will work with tonic too, but if so - use a really neutral tonic such as Fentimans Connoisseurs Tonic Water. 50ml of the gin, a few cubes of ice and 100ml of the tonic.
