Brouwerij Verhofstede Citroen Jenever
The history of Brouwerij Verhofstede dates back to 1885, and Stefanie De Jaegher (who later married Julien Verhofstede). Initially Beer was brewed, but in the 1960's a move into spirits occured. Now with over 130 years of experience, and four generations of the same family they continue to create a range of delicious drinks.
With their Citroen (Lemon) Jenever, Brouwerij Verhofstede have created a refreshing jenever with a delicate zestiness to it.
This is created by blending fresh lemon extracts to their Jenever. Intensely zingy, this is full of intense lemon flavours. There is certainly no hiding the lemon in this drink, and it loves to 'stick to the lips'.

Perfect Serve
Whilst this has a lower alcohol content and can easily be enjoyed slowly on its own, it also pairs perfectly with a lemonade, sparkling or soda water or a tonic. This creates a deliciously long, refreshing drink which is perfect year round, but particularly enjoyable on a summers evening.
Take a large glass filled with ice and add 10ml of the jenever. Gently pour over 150ml of your chosen mixer. Stir gently, and garnish with a slice of fresh lemon.
