Edinburgh Gin Elderflower Liqueur

Highly aromatic, with a sweet floral bouquet - Edinburgh Gin's Elderflower Liqueur is a delight to the senses.

Distilled using a blend of locally sourced botanicals from the rural surroundings of Edinburgh, these include Elderflower (as the name suggests), but also orange peel, mulberries, pine buds, lavender and lemongrass. Whilst it has a complex blend of botanicals, the overall result is subtle. These blend perfectly with the Classic Edinburgh Gin to create this delicious Gin Liqueur.

The elderflowers have a distinctive floral aroma and flavour that marry beautifully with botanicals typically used in the creation of gin. Harvested by hand, only in the summer when in full-bloom the summer's elderflowers infused with classic Edinburgh Gin. The flowers are left to macerate for a month to ensure the maximum amount of flavour is extracted.

It has a light, fully floral profile on the nose. A hint of honey joins the florals and both these are noticed on the palatte as well. 

This is certainly one way to bring a hint of summer to anytime of the year, and particularly delicious when enjoyed on a warm summers evening.

Perfect Serve

This can be enjoyed simply over ice. For something a little more celebratory - in a flute glass add 50ml of the liqueur and top up with Prosecco.

For a refreshing cocktail, how about trying an Elder Zest. Take a tall glass and half fill with crushed ice. Pour over 25ml Edinburgh Gin Classic, 25ml of the Liqueur and 15ml of fresh lemon juice. Stir well to ensure fully mixed, and then add a little more crushed ice to fill the glass. Pour over Fever-Tree Premium Lemonade - filling the glass, and then garnish with a couple of fresh mint leaves and a slice of lemon.
