Hernö Artisan Ten Gin
Hernö is the first dedicated gin distillery in Sweden, and is located in Dala on the high coast of Sweden. They only produce organic, artisanal gins, which are inspired by the natural beauty of Sweden.
In 2019 Hernö launched their Interpretations by Hernö series. This is a collectors series of gins each of which have a particularly creative twist.
Their Artisan Ten gin is the 2021 release, of which only 1,921 bottles were made. This is particularly special, as 2021 also marked the 10th Anniversary of Hernö. This is a real homage to Dala (their home town), and a "decade of joy creating gin". This is distinct in that it is matured on birch casks.
This is a gin which doesn't hide it's juniper! It's virgorous both on the nose and the early palate, buut fades into distinct woody notes. These are perfectly balanced by a refined floral sweetness which comes from both birch, and meadowsweet.

This is truly a special gin, and one we highly recommend enjoyed as it was designed to be. Take a rocks glass and add a large ice cube, and complete with 50ml of the gin. No garnish needed with this one! Sip, and enjoy slowly.
