Poli Marconi 46 Gin
Located just outside Venice, the Poli distillery was founded in 1898 by GioBatta Poli. It is located in Schiavon close to Bassano del Grappa in the heart of Veneto. This is the most renowned region for the production of the Italian Grappa.
From the long tradition of distilling they produce a range of different Grappas and Liqueurs, as well as delicious gins too.
Their range of Marconi Gins are artisanally distilled in small batches by Jacopo Polo. He uses a vacuum bain-marie pot still, which is unique - and enables intense scents, flavours and aromatic persistence to his gins.
Marconi 46 uses an infusion of botanicals inspired by the Asiago plateau (in the north of the Veneto region). This is where the Poli family comes from. The botanicals used are juniper berries, muscat grapes, mountain pine, cembra pine, mint, coriander and cardamom.
The nose there has an intense aroma of juniper. This is joined by pine and mint - giving a really refreshing greeting.
In the mouth, the muscat grapes give a smooth and silky touch. Piney juniper, and mint join with gentle spice coming from the cardamom and coriander. It leaves the palate refreshed. and gives the feeling of a walk in a warm, Italian summer forest.

Perfect Serve
Delicious enjoyed on its own over ice, or in a classic gin & tonic.
We liked this with Royal Bliss Tonic water. The light citrus notes from the tonic blend particularly well with this gin. Take a large glass filled with ice and add 50ml of the gin. Gently pour over 150 - 200ml of tonic and stir gently. Garnish with a few juniper berries.
