Talisker Single Malt Scotch Whisky 10Y
Produced on the Isle of Skye in Scotland, the Talisker distillery is the only functional single malt whisky distillery to be found there.
Many consider the 10Y Whisky from Talisker to be the original standard frm Talisker, and one of their best expressions. It follows the Talisker style of being smoky and spicy, and is a consistent drinking experience..
It represents its island well (an area battered by harsh sea air), and is distilled from heavily peated malt barley. The result is an excellent Island single malt Scotch.
It has a predominant strong smoky and spice aromas to it, which are joined by an almost flood like burst of orchard fruit flavours. A touch of salt comes through on the nose as well, reminding this is an island Scotch. These mix with a barbecue smokiness and spicy white pepper to give the mouth a truly powerful taste sensation. The finish retains the spiciness over a long period, with the slightly higher than average abv giving a real warmth.
