Rutte Dry Gin
With a long history, the Rutte distillery has been distilling in Dordrecht since 1872. They pass recipes from generation to generation, and whilst the Rutte family hasn't owned the distillery since the 1990's, its still their processes and recipes which inspire the current distillers.
For their gin they use pure grain alcohol, and 100% natural ingredients - nothing artificial.
Their Dry Gin is an elegant gin which uses fennel as a signature botanical. This is combined with more classic gin botanicals (such as juniper, coriander, orange peel and angelica) to create this delicious gin.
On the nose there is a hint of citrus from the orange peels, which is joined by an pine like earthiness from the juniper. In the mouth this is deliciously creamy, which ensures the flavours coat the mouth well. Peppery juniper and the fennel are the core flavours here. It finishes with a light warmth from black pepper.

Perfect Serve
This works very well in a classic gin & tonic, and we liked it with a little sweetness from Fever-Tree Elderflower Tonic. Take a large glass filled with ice and add 50ml of the gin. Gently pour over 150ml of the tonic and stir gently, Garnish with some juniper berries and (if available) some fresh fennel.
